At Wurkbuk, accessible from https://wurkbuk.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Wurkbuk and how we use it.

This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that is shared and/or collected in Wurkbuk. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name and email address.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our website
  • Understand and analyze how you use our website
  • Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
  • Communicate with you for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing and promotional purposes

Log Files

Wurkbuk follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, Wurkbuk uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information. Cookies are also used to help when you log in and are used to help the teaching and learning tools work properly.

Google Services

Wurkbuk uses Google services to enhance the functionality and features available. It is possible to turn off the Google functionality within Wurkbuk by going to the user profile 'My Profile' section and switching off the Google Features toggle. If this is turned off, Wurkbuk will not require or use any Google data and login authentication is not required. If the Google services toggle is enabled then the following features will be enabled.

  • You will be able to import your classes from Google Classroom.
  • You will be able to import Google Docs, Sheets and Slides from your Google Drive to create lesson resources.
  • When exporting a lesson resource, any Google Docs, Sheets or Slides within the resource will be saved in the export file.
  • When importing a lesson resource, any data from Google Docs, Sheets or Slides within the import file (.wble) will be copied to your own Google Drive.
  • When you share a lesson resource which has embedded Google Docs, Sheets or Slides with students, you have the option to create copies of those documents for your students.
  • If you have created copies of lesson resources with embedded Google Docs, Sheets or Slides, you have the option of sharing or unsharing those Google Documents with students.

 

In order for these features to work successfully, Wurkbuk will require that you sign-in to your Google account and give Wurkbuk permission to

  • access your Google Classroom classes,
  • view your students' email addresses,
  • access your Google Drive,
  • create folders in your Google Drive,
  • create, view, share and unshare Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

 

Please note that Wurkbuk will NOT be able to

  • access your Google password 
  • delete any Google Drive Files
  • access any other Google Services

At any moment, you will be able to turn off Google services from the My Profile section of Wurkbuk. You can also revoke any Google permissions you have granted to Wurkbuk at any time via the Google Accounts security settings.

Wurkbuk's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Other Third Parties

Wurkbuk's does not use any other third parties websites or advertisers, so no other cookies will be used in relation to Wurkbuk functionality. Wurkbuk will not share any of your information or data with third party organisations.

CCPA Privacy Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a business that collects a consumer's personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.
  • Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
  • Request that a business that sells a consumer's personal data, not sell the consumer's personal data.

Children's Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

We only collect personal information through the Services from a child we know is under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 for a child in the European Union) (each a “child”) when we have parental consent or when a student’s school, district, and/or teacher has agreed (via the terms described in more detail in the Terms of Service) to obtain parental consent for that child to use the Services and disclose personal information to us, for the use and benefit of the learning environment. If you are a child, please do not send any personal information about yourself to us if your parent has not provided consent or your school, district, and/or teacher has not obtained this prior consent from your parent or guardian, and please do not send any personal information other than what we request from you in connection with the Services. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent as outlined herein, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
